Last week couldn’t have gone much better. I am so proud and so thankful for these boys.

Coach Saggs and Philpot did an awesome job coaching the boys to victory over Old Lyme in the semifinals. Old Lyme had a lot of momentum coming into the end of the season, so I was especially proud our boys rose to the challenge.

Thursday, well, I don’ t think any of us are going to forget Thursday for some time to come. An amazing effort by a talented group of boys all playing for one thing: each other. We played against a very tough zone that stymied our offense in the last game against them. Our new Spitfire defense (the first time we’ve used it in a game) was just the thing to keep them off balance thanks to our defensive unit who performed it perfectly.

Now, we’re focused on our first game in the State tournament vs. Stonington. We look forward to a great game.

Schedule for the week:

  • Monday: practice 4-5:30

  • Tuesday: practice 3-4:30 with a team meal after

  • Wednesday: Game, home: 6:30 (5:30 warm ups)

  • Thursday: practice 3-5

  • Friday: practice: 3-5

  • Saturday: (if we are victorious Wednesday) Game, Away at Granby 3pm. BUS TBD
