This year’s central themes: Make Yourself Better; Make Your Teammates Better
Here’s how you can make yourself better over the winter:
Prep for the PFT - Personal Fitness Test- comprised of plank, pushups, sprint, and agility course. More coming soon.
Winter Training at OSHS - 2 days a week:
Mondays, 2:30-3:30 conditioning (meet at weight room - indoor and outdoor workouts - no cleats)
Thursday, 4-5, lifting (starting 12/9, weight room)
Pick Up Lacrosse at the Rec -
Tuesdays, 5-6pm. Helmet, stick, and gloves. Starts January 11th.
Wall Ball, 1 hour a week total
Here’s how you can make your teammate better:
Bring a teammate to indoor lax at the Park & Rec
Bring a teammate to a workout
Bring a teammate to wallball
NOTE: The new NOCSAE ND200 Performance standard to help address commotio cordis for shoulder pads is mandatory this year. All new shoulder pads will meet this standard. I suspect we’ll start to see shortages come March, so think about new shoulder pads soon.
