Where are we now?

Team,

With school officially closed for the next two weeks, our season is obviously impacted. Here is the information I can share today:

• We will not begin practice 3/21 as planned.

• Our AD, Mr. Cunningham, has a CIAC call on Wednesday morning that will likely determine next steps for spring sports. As you may know, CIAC was an early mover in shutting down winter sport tournaments that professional sports soon followed. Mr. Cunningham has promised to communicate with me shortly after that call and I’ll pass along the info I get.

• We cannot hold practices or “captains practices” or similar while school is closed or until the CIAC makes a move.

• I’ll point out here that Ivy league and many others have suspended or canceled their spring sport season.

KEEP THE FOLLOWING IN MIND:

• We are all acting for your safety and the safety of those around us.

• No school does not have to mean no lacrosse. Find a wall - go for a run - practice your shot. If we get a green light to play, be ready.

• When we do retake the field, play like it might be your last time. Celebrate your team, your opponents and your fans.

• Lastly, we will be back. There’s lots more lacrosse to play.
